JOEL 'JOJO' WILLIAMS

Joel “JoJo” Williams has learned early that his journey cannot be measured against anyone else’s. As a wide receiver at Chippewa Valley High School, JoJo has heard the doubts about his height and whether he has the heart to compete at a high level. Instead of allowing those opinions to define him, he has continued to develop his game, sharpen his mindset, and work toward proving what he knows he is capable of.

One of JoJo’s biggest challenges came when knee pain affected his confidence. That period forced him to change the way he approached football mentally and physically. Through that process, he became smarter about the game and more confident in his development. At JD Speed Performance, JoJo has worked to improve his speed, strength, technique, and overall understanding of how to become a faster and more complete football player.

His growth has already earned him Offensive Rookie of the Year, along with college interest from UConn, Kent State, and Miami (Ohio). But JoJo is focused on what comes next. Over the next year, his goals are to get fully healthy, get bigger and stronger, remain positive, and continue putting himself in position to earn college opportunities.

​

For JoJo, PROVEN means backing up what you have been saying with what you actually do. His message to younger athletes reflects the mindset he is developing through his own journey: Never let anyone tell you that you cannot do something, and never compare your journey to someone else’s.

​

JoJo is still growing, developing, and learning.
